f you’re following best practices in email marketing, you’re not asking for anything more than the essentials on your email signup page. At least you’re not requiring that data. History has proven that if you ask for to much information during the opt-in or sign up process, you will get fewer email sign-ups.
I know you want to start to personalize your emails or even segment your lists to send the most relevant information to your subscribers. So how do you learn about your subscribers? Ask them!. Ask them in the form of a survey. It is quick, easy and inexpensive.
